Nearly 6,000 patients in six days; Covid spreads rapidly in Thrissur

Thrissur district is in the throes of Covid expansion. The spread of the disease is getting worse day by day. In Thrissur alone, Covid confirmed to nearly 6,000 people in six days. The highest number of positive cases was reported in Thrissur yesterday. The district administration has decided to tighten control over the district’s contingency zones. The critical contingency zones include the Thrissur Corporation limits and five municipal areas.

The Collector directed to tighten the security standards. Do not leave without complying with safety standards. It is advised not to trade in shops without following the Covid protocol. The area with more than thirty patients will be completely closed. Outbreaks appear to be exacerbated in many panchayats.

Jaihind and Shaktan markets have been closed for days. Due to the closure of the markets, the prices of vegetables in the district are going up uncontrollably. No decision has been taken on whether to tighten control in Thrissur as Thiruvananthapuram district has been completely closed due to the spread of Covid.

According to the Union Health Ministry, 58,439 people were cured yesterday. In the last 24 hours, 508 people have died of Covid infection in the country. This brings the total death toll to 1,20,010.
