Neyyattinkara Gopan’s Son Demands Death Certificate, But Municipality Declines for Now

The family of Neyyattinkara Gopan is demanding a death certificate. However, the Neyyattinkara Municipality has said that it cannot issue a death certificate for the time being as the police are still investigating the mystery surrounding his death. The cause of Gopan’s death is not yet clear. The police are waiting for the results of the internal organ samples. The cause of death will be clear only after this is received. The municipality’s stance is that the certificate can be issued only then.

A death certificate is required for the children to inherit the assets of Neyyattinkara Gopan. This may have prompted the children to apply for a death certificate for their deceased father.

The family’s claim that Gopan had gone into samadhi had led to a major controversy. The family is demanding a death certificate while the police are investigating a complaint by locals alleging a mystery surrounding his death. The youngest son, Rajasenan, approached the Neyyattinkara Municipality the other day with a request for a death certificate.

While considering the case filed by the family, the High Court also asked where the death certificate was. But the family was of the opinion that Gopan was not dead.
