Waqf Claims Ownership Over Supreme Court Building

The Waqf Board has raised a claim over the Supreme Court building, marking the beginning of a fresh controversy. In response, Union Home Minister Amit Shah stated that the Wakf Amendment Law will soon be passed in the country, and no one will be able to stop it. He also emphasized that the Uniform Civil Code will be implemented, and nothing can prevent it.

The Wakf dispute, involving claims over properties like Mukesh Ambani’s residence in Mumbai, has now sparked a new controversy. The “Mission 2047” plan of the Popular Front of India, which aims to declare all Wakf properties across India by 2047 and establish an Islamic State, has raised serious concerns.

A Muslim scholar has claimed that the Wakf is the largest institution in India after the railways and the army in terms of property ownership. According to him, 9.4 lakh acres of land in India are Wakf properties, which is larger than the entire area of Kerala. In contrast, Kerala’s revenue land is only about 7 lakh acres. This claim has raised significant apprehensions and concerns.
