Nipah test of the child under treatment is positive, Nipah has been confirmed in the state

Malappuram: Nipah case confirmed again in the state. Health Minister Veena George stated that the test conducted at the virology lab in Kerala has shown positive and the test result of the saliva sample sent to Pune is awaited.

A 14-year-old boy who was undergoing treatment for Nipah symptoms in Malappuram district was tested positive at the Virology Lab in Kozhikode. In this situation, the health department has opened a control cell. A 24-hour control cell has been opened at Malappuram PWD rest house. No: 0483-2732010

A child from Malappuram Pandikkad Panchayat has symptoms of Nipah. The health minister informed that since the test in Kerala was positive, steps were taken as per the protocol. A 30-room ward is ready at Mancheri. A six-bed ICU is also equipped.

Pandikkad is the epicenter of the disease. People should be careful. The result from Pune will come by night. As of now no restrictions have been imposed in the Pandikkad area as results are not available from the Pune lab. If the result is positive, containment zone will be included. Veena George said that the health department is ready.
