PM Modi gets a warm welcome from the Indian diaspora in Washington

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has commended Indian Diaspora for distinguishing itself across the world as he received a warm welcome from the community on his arrival at Joint Base Andrews in Washington DC. PM Modi was greeted by a crowd of Indian Americans, who were chanting his name and waving the Indian flag amid light showers. More than a hundred members from the Indian Community gathered at the Joint Base Andrews to welcome the Indian leader.

This is PM Modi’s first visit to US since the outbreak of coronavirus in January 2020. Upon his arrival at the airport, he was received by US Department of State officials including T H Brian McKeon, US Deputy Secretary of State for Management and Resources at Joint Base Andrews in Washington DC. Modi has commended Indian Diaspora for distinguishing itself across the world as he received a warm welcome from the community on his arrival at Joint Base Andrews in Washington DC. He expressed his gratitude for the welcome by interacting with all the people present at the air force base. “Grateful to the Indian community in Washington DC for the warm welcome. Our diaspora is our strength,” Modi said in a tweet along with a set of pictures of his interaction with the Indian American CEOs. PM Modi also shared pictures from his landing and provided details about his next plans in the upcoming two days. During his three-day US visit, PM Modi will address the UN General Assembly and attend the Quad Leaders’ Summit as well as hold a bilateral meet with US President Joe Biden at the White House.
