Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the first Hindu temple in Abu Dhabi

Abu Dhabi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated Bochasanwasi Akshar Purushottam Swaminarayan Sanstha Mandir, the first Hindu temple in Arab countries. The Prime Minister entered the temple’s inauguration ceremony after taking blessings from senior priests. The proposal of a Hindu temple in Abu Dhabi came up during Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to the UAE in 2015. The UAE government then allowed the construction of a temple on the Dubai-Abu Dhabi highway.

The ‘Bochasanwasi Akshar Purushottam Swaminarayan Sanstha’ movement, which has built around 1200 temples in 52 countries, took the helm of temple construction. The temple is at the confluence of three sacred rivers.
