Delhi: Wayanad MP Priyanka Gandhi arrived at Parliament wearing a bag with the words “Palestine” written on it. Priyanka, who arrived with a message of solidarity with Palestine, faced strong opposition from the ruling BJP. This is the first time that Priyanka Gandhi is attending a Parliament session after winning from Wayanad.
Priyanka Gandhi has been raising her voice against the actions of the Israeli army in Gaza for months. Priyanka Gandhi had earlier criticized Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who said that the Israeli government is carrying out genocidal actions in Gaza. In addition to the writing “Palestine” on the bag, a watermelon, a symbol of Palestinian solidarity, has also been featured.
Last week, she also met Abed Elrazeg Abu Jassar, the charged’affaires of the Palestinian Embassy in New Delhi. Meanwhile, BJP MP Ghulam Ali Khatana expressed strong opposition to Priyanka’s Palestine solidarity. But he told news agency IANS that people do such things to make news and when they are rejected by the people, they resort to such things.
