Hybrid Cannabis Case; Sreenath Bhasi to Be Summoned for Questioning

In the Alappuzha hybrid cannabis case, Sreenath Bhasi will first be summoned for questioning. In his anticipatory bail plea, Sreenath Bhasi stated that someone had asked him if he wanted cannabis and that he had responded to it.

The Excise Department considers this as an indication of a possible drug transaction. A notice is likely to be issued for him to appear for questioning by next week.

Those currently in remand—Tasleem, Sultan Akbar Ali, and Firoz—will be taken into custody. Further actions will be taken after the forensic analysis of their phones is completed. Officials expect crucial evidence related to drug dealings in the film industry from Tasleem’s phone. Sultan Akbar Ali, who was arrested, had smuggled gold along with cannabis. If evidence of international connections is found, other central agencies may be involved in the investigation.
