200 BrahMos missiles become part of Navy, 19000 crore deal

New Delhi: Decision to make 200 BrahMos missiles a part of Navy. 19,000 crore contract was authorized by the Cabinet Committee. The Center approved the purchase of BrahMos missiles in a meeting held on Wednesday evening.

An agreement regarding this will be entered into in the first week of March. The India-Russia joint venture BrahMos missile can be launched from land, submarine, ship and aircraft. India is exporting missiles that travel three times the speed of sound to other countries.
India had signed a $375 million deal with the Philippines in January last year. Shipments will begin in March.
