New Delhi: Sheikh Hasina, who came to India after resigning as the Prime Minister of Bangladesh, met National Security Advisor Ajit Doval. They discussed the crisis in Bangladesh and future course of action with him. The meeting was held at the Hindon Air Force Base in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, 30 km from Delhi. Sheikh Hasina arrived in India on a Bangladesh military plane at 5.30 pm today.
Following the developments in Bangladesh, strict vigilance has been issued in Meghalaya. Meghalaya Deputy Chief Minister Preston Tinsong announced that a night curfew has been imposed on the Meghalaya-Bangladesh border. The decision was taken in an emergency meeting held by the Border Security Force and the Police.
Curfew has been imposed in areas that are more than 444 km from the border. The Deputy Chief Minister stated that the curfew has been imposed from 6 pm to 6 am and the curfew will continue till further notice. The Border Security Force has been instructed to be vigilant and to prepare heavy security.
Sheikh Hasina, who resigned from the post of Prime Minister, came straight to India. She is trying to get political asylum in London. Discussions are progressing with the British government in this regard. Hasina may remain in India till she moves to London. After Sheikh Hasina’s resignation, the military, which seized power, has announced that it will form an interim government.
