Kasaragod: In the case of Abdul Salam’s brutal murder in Mogral, the court sentenced six accused to life imprisonment and imposed a fine of ₹1.5 lakh each. The convicted are Siddique from Kumbla Badariya Nagar, Umar Farooq, Saheer from Perwad, Niyas from Peral, Harish from Arikkadi Bambrana, and Latheef from Mogral Maliyankara Kotta. The verdict was pronounced by the Kasaragod District Additional Sessions Court.
On the evening of April 30, 2017, Abdul Salam from Pottoorimoola was murdered by slitting his throat at Mogral Maliyankara Kotta. Naushad, who was with Salam, was also attacked and injured. According to the charge sheet, the accused played football with Salam’s severed head after the murder. The case initially involved eight accused.
