The Indian Embassy in Lebanon has issued a warning to Indian citizens in the wake of heightened tensions between Israel and Lebanon’s Iran-backed armed group Hezbollah. The Indian Embassy has advised Indians not to travel to Lebanon and Indian nationals in Lebanon to leave the country. In view of recent developments, Indian nationals should not travel to Lebanon until further notice. A note issued by the Indian Embassy in Beirut said that those in Lebanon should leave the country and those who remain in Lebanon for any reason should exercise extreme caution. Those remaining in Lebanon are advised to restrict travel and contact the Indian Embassy in Beirut.
At the same time, on Wednesday, Israeli army chief Herzi Haveli instructed the soldiers to be ready to cross the road to Lebanon at any moment in the context of the intensifying conflict. Israel has also decided to deploy two brigades of the reserve forces to the northern border. On Wednesday, the third day of the opening of a new war front in Lebanon, Hezbollah fired rockets into Tel Aviv, the capital of Israel. The Qadr 1 ballistic missile was sent to the headquarters of the Israeli spy agency Mossad. Israel’s military has confirmed that Hezbollah’s rocket landed in Tel Aviv for the first time and was shot down by air defense systems. It was also stated that the attack in Tel Aviv was for the self-defense of the Lebanese people and to inform Israel that it will continue to support the people of Gaza. This is the first time that Hizbullah has attacked inside Israel. Hizbullah is trying to escalate the conflict and the rocket launcher in southern Lebanon that fired a missile at Tel Aviv was destroyed by a counter attack, Nadav Shoshani said.
