Prayagraj: Union Home Minister Amit Shah took a holy dip at the Triveni Sangam, which is the confluence of Ganga, Yamuna and Saraswati. The Home Minister, who arrived at the Mahakumbh Mela in Prayagraj, took the holy dip along with eminent monks. The monks who were with him could also be seen anointing him with holy water in their hands.
After the bath, the monks blessed him with tilak. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and ministers received Amit Shah in Prayagraj. After the holy bath, Amit Shah visited the Bade Hanumanji temple and Abhayvat. The Home Minister will also visit the Juna Akhara, which is in charge of the Prayagraj Kumbh Mela. Amit Shah will also have lunch with the Acharya Mahamandaleshar of Juna Akhara and other monks of the Akhara. He will also meet the heads of the Sringeri, Puri and Dwarka mutts.
Amit Shah will return to Delhi from Prayagraj in the evening. Union Minister Rajnath Singh also visited the Kumbh Mela the other day and took holy dip at the Triveni Sangam. The Prime Minister will also reach Prayagraj on February 5. Prayagraj witnesses the Mahakumbh Mela, which is held once in 12 years. Kumbhnagari is the venue for a large gathering of pilgrims and spiritual masters every day. According to the 14-day count, more than 11 crore devotees have visited the Kumbh Mela so far.
