Amritpal Singh’s brother arrested in drugs case

Jalandhar: Khadur Sahib MP and pro-Khalistan leader Amritpal Singh’s elder brother Harpreet Singh was caught with drugs. Police arrested Harpreet Singh with five grams of methamphetamine. Jalandhar Rural Police caught Singh and another person Lovepreet Singh on their way to Ludhiana. Later in the night, both were subjected to medical examination and tested positive for drugs. The police informed that both have been arrested.

The police informed that the investigation in the incident is progressing. There is also a case against Sandeep Arora, a native of Hebowal in Ludhiana district, from whom the two bought drugs. It was also found that both of them paid Rs 10,000 to him through Paytm. A case has been registered under the NDPS Act at Phillur police station.

During the search, a half-burnt Rs 20 note rolled into a pipe was recovered from Harpreet’s shirt pocket and 4 grams of methamphetamine was recovered from another pocket, police said. A digital weighing scale was also recovered from their possession. A silver paper used for inhaling drugs and a lighter were seized from the purse kept near the driver’s seat.
