Army Thwarts Pakistani Terrorist Infiltration Attempt, Kills Two

Army foiled an infiltration attempt by Pakistani terrorists in Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir. Army killed two terrorists in an encounter in the area. The encounter took place in the Nowshera sector of the border between last night and this morning. The army also said that they have seized weapons including AK 47 guns from the slain terrorists.

After the killing of two terrorists, a large-scale search is underway in the area. Surveillance was intensified in the area based on intelligence that there was a possibility of infiltration by terrorists. Last week too, there was an encounter between security forces and terrorists in Nowshera sector. The terrorists also opened fire on the army. No one was injured in the incident. Later, a search was conducted in the area, but the terrorists could not be caught.

At the end of August, an encounter took place in Rajouri during a search aimed at a hideout of terrorists. The infiltration attempt of the terrorists is nearing the assembly elections in Kashmir. The election is being held in three phases this month namely 18th, 25th and 1st of October. The result will be announced on October 4.
