Arvind Kejriwal moves to Supreme Court against High Court order in liquor policy case

New Delhi: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has approached the Supreme Court against the High Court’s order dismissing the plea against the Enforcement Directorate’s arrest in a money laundering case related to the liquor policy scam. , will take up the matter before Chief Justice DY Chandrachud and demand an urgent hearing in this regard. Sources indicate that the Aam Aadmi Party does not agree with the decision of the Delhi High Court.

The Delhi High Court upheld the Enforcement Directorate’s contention that Arvind Kejriwal was involved in the conspiracy in the Delhi Liquor Policy scam case. The court also stated that the ED documents show that Arvind Kejriwal was involved in the crime.

Kejriwal was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate on March 21 in connection with the excise policy. The trial court remanded Arvind Kejriwal in judicial custody till April 15, 2024. The ED alleged that the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) was the main beneficiary of the proceeds of the alleged liquor scam. The agency also claimed that Kejriwal was directly involved in formulating the excise policy. The case alleged irregularities and money laundering in the formulation and implementation of the Delhi Excise Policy 2022, which was later dropped.
