Bengaluru Police announces restrictions, New Year celebrations should end by 1 am

Bengaluru: As the city and the state continue to prepare for the New Year celebrations, the Bengaluru Police has announced several restrictions. Every year on December 31 and January 1, New Year is celebrated in a grand manner in Bengaluru on MG Road, Brigade Road and Indira Nagar. Often, this goes beyond the limits and leads to accidents.

Following this, the Bengaluru Municipal Corporation and the police have issued new guidelines to prevent accidents during the celebrations to welcome the New Year 2025. The police have directed the corporation to increase the number of surveillance cameras on MG Road and Brigade Road, which are the main locations for New Year celebrations.

Guidelines issued by the police

* New Year’s Eve celebrations should end at 1 am.

* New Year celebrations will be allowed only in MG Road, Brigade Road and Indira Nagar.

* Major flyovers will be closed after 10 pm.

* 800 surveillance cameras will be installed on MG Road and Brigade Road.

* Vehicular traffic will be stopped on MG Road and Brigade Road after 8 pm.

* Special parking for those coming in vehicles to celebrate the New Year.

* Women police will be appointed for the protection of women.
