Brazil Criticizes US for Deporting Immigrants in Handcuffs on Flights

Since Donald Trump took office as US President, the country has been wiping out illegal immigrants one by one. Now Brazil has come out against the United States. The Brazilian government has come out against the handcuffed immigrants deported from the United States and put them on a plane.

The decision is to demand an explanation from the government. The Brazilian Foreign Ministry responded that the treatment of migrants is a blatant violation of human rights. After Trump took office, the deportation and arrest of illegal immigrants began. Military planes are flying with migrants to various countries, including Guatemala and Brazil. When such a plane landed in Manaus, Brazil, 88 people on board were handcuffed. The Brazilian Ministry of Justice said in a statement that it had asked US officials to remove the handcuffs immediately upon learning of this.

The Brazilian government decided to seek an explanation from the United States. “On the plane, they didn’t give us water. Our hands and feet were tied. They didn’t even let us go to the bathroom. There was no AC on the plane for four hours due to a technical fault. Some people fainted,” said Edgar da Silva Moura and Luiz Antonio Rodrigues Santos, two Brazilians who were on the plane.
