Srinagar: In Jammu and Kashmir, a tragic accident claimed the lives of four BSF soldiers, while 32 others were injured when a bus plunged into a gorge. The incident occurred in the Bral Wathora area of Budgam district in central Kashmir. The bus, carrying 35 BSF soldiers, skidded off the road and fell into the gorge. According to the police, six of the injured are in critical condition.
The bus was one of seven vehicles carrying BSF soldiers deployed for election security duties for the second phase of the Legislative Assembly elections. The vehicle skidded off the mountainous road and fell 40 feet into the gorge, the police said. The injured soldiers have been hospitalized, and rescue operations are ongoing at the accident site.
