The Islamic State is active in Kerala, according to a report by the Central Government. In addition, the central government has stated that terrorists receive foreign aid and that there are organizations and individuals who support ISIS. The government has said that IS has a presence in 11 states, including Kerala. The ministry said the NIA probe was clear. Nationwide, 17 cases have been registered in IS operations.

ISIS is mainly present in Kerala, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, West Bengal, Rajasthan, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, and Jammu and Kashmir. The Home Ministry says there is a presence that poses a major challenge to national security. The Union Home Minister informed the Rajya Sabha that the government was closely monitoring the cyber sector.

Meanwhile, Congress member KC Venugopal drew the attention of the government to media reports that the Chinese government was monitoring about 10,000 Indians. Mavanugopal also asked what action would be taken in case of such an incident.
