A COVID patient in Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh, has given birth to four children in a single delivery. The incident took place at BRD Medical College Hospital in Gorakhpur. One child was transferred to a ventilator after being diagnosed with serious health problems. A 26-year-old woman from Gauri Bazar village has given birth to four children in a single delivery.
Ganesh Kumar, principal of the medical college, said the mother and three other children had no health problems and were in good health. Ganesh Kumar said such cases were rare and the maternity ward was challenging.
The woman was admitted to the Trauma Center at the Medical College on Tuesday night after COVID confirmed it. The woman then gave birth to four children on Wednesday. Babies weigh 980 grams to 1.5 kilograms. Samples of all four babies were collected for COVID testing.
