Raipur: Ten Naxals were killed in an encounter with security forces, and several weapons, including an AK-47 rifle, were recovered by the forces.
The encounter took place early on Friday morning in the forested area of Bhandarpadar. The security forces conducted a joint operation as part of the anti-Naxal campaign. Ten bodies have been recovered.
Bijapur, along with six other districts, has seen the highest number of encounters. So far in 2024, 257 Naxals have been killed, 861 have been arrested, and 789 have surrendered.
On October 4, 31 Naxals were killed in a special operation at the border of Narayanpur and Dantewada districts.
