Encounter in Udampur, one soldier martyred

A soldier was martyred in an encounter with terrorists in Udhampur, Jammu and Kashmir. This is the third attack following the Pahalgam incident. Army officials and the Jammu and Kashmir Police are jointly engaged in combating the terrorists. Meanwhile, Pakistan has announced a naval exercise near the Arabian Sea, close to its coast. There are indications that missile testing might also be conducted. Reports also suggest that India’s aircraft carrier INS Vikrant has moved into the deep sea.

In the meantime, in the wake of the Pahalgam terror attack, an all-party meeting will be held today. The meeting, chaired by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, is scheduled for 6 PM at the Parliament Annex. Representatives from various parties including Congress, DMK, TMC, TDP, Shiv Sena, JD(U), and RJD will participate. The government will explain the details of the terror attack and the measures taken in response. Opposition parties, including the Congress, had demanded that the government convene an all-party meeting on the issue.
