Former ISRO Chairman Dr. K Kasturirangan passes away

Bengaluru: Former ISRO Chairman Dr.K Kasturirangan passed away. He was 84 years old. He passed away this morning at his residence in Bengaluru.

He was the head of ISRO for 9 years from 1994 to 2003. Later, he became a Rajya Sabha MP from 2003 to 2009. A scientist who was honored by the country with the Padma Vibhushan award.

Dr. Kasturirangan was born in Ernakulam in 1940. His father and mother were natives of Tamil Nadu who had come to Kerala and settled there. The development of INSAT, PSLV and GSLV satellites was during his time.
