Kolkata: In remembrance of the sacrifice-filled spirit of Good Friday, West Bengal Governor Dr. C.V. Ananda Bose extended wishes of hope and peace to brothers and sisters across the state and the nation.
He emphasized that Good Friday holds great significance on the journey toward Easter Sunday. The suffering, crucifixion, and resurrection of Jesus highlight his patience, forgiveness, service, and eternal love for humanity.
Good Friday is a time for spiritual renewal and self-reflection. Before his crucifixion, Jesus shared the Last Supper, which carried a message of eternal significance for all humankind. During the meal, Jesus broke bread and said, “Take, eat; this is my body.” Then he offered a cup of wine, saying, “This is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins” (Matthew 26:26–28).
Jesus also gave his disciples a new commandment: “Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another” (John 13:34–35).
This highlights the importance of love and unity. Even when everything seems lost, the life of Jesus Christ assures us that resurrection is possible. May this Good Friday bring you peace and inner renewal.
May the resurrection of Jesus fill your heart with hope and joy. May the spirit of sacrifice and selflessness guide us in our journey – Governor Ananda Bose said in his message.
