In a video message released by his office, the Governor clarified that he will not attend any meeting attended by the Chief Minister. He added that action will be taken against them for violating the constitutional provisions.
“I am committed to the constitution, the people of Bengal, the girl’s parents and the people who are fighting for justice,” he said. “In my assessment, the government has failed in its duties,” he criticized. “You can fool some people for a while, but you can’t fool all the people all the time,” he added. Mamata said.
West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee announced her resignation during the protest of junior doctors. Mamata said that she is not overwhelmed by the high position and is ready to resign from the post of Chief Minister. Mamata’s reaction came after the doctors did not attend the meeting with the junior doctors at the Secretariat. The government accepted the demand of the doctors that the chief minister should be present in the meeting but rejected the demand for live communication. The case of rape and murder of a doctor at RG Kar Hospital is under consideration by the court. Mamta also said that it is not possible to broadcast live as requested by the doctors.
