Governor of Bengal Declines Sharing Public Platforms with Mamata, Opts for Social Boycott

Bengal Governor CV Ananda Bose said that Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee will be socially ostracized and will not share the same public platform with Mamata. He added that this meant that he would not share any public platform with the Chief Minister. He described Mamata as Shakespeare’s tragic heroine “Lady Macbeth”.

“At present, there is violence everywhere in the state, be it cities, villages or hospitals. I will socially ostracize the Chief Minister,” he said. I will never share a stage with CM. In a video message released by his office, the Governor clarified that he will not attend any meeting attended by the Chief Minister. He added that action will be taken against them for violating the constitutional provisions.

“I am committed to the constitution, the people of Bengal, the girl’s parents and the people who are fighting for justice,” he said. “In my assessment, the government has failed in its duties,” he criticized. “You can fool some people for a while, but you can’t fool all the people all the time,” he added. Mamata said.

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee announced her resignation during the protest of junior doctors. Mamata said that she is not overwhelmed by the high position and is ready to resign from the post of Chief Minister. Mamata’s reaction came after the doctors did not attend the meeting with the junior doctors at the Secretariat. After waiting for two hours for the meeting, the Chief Minister of Bengal reacted in this way in the press conference. I am ready to resign. “I also want justice for the doctor who was murdered in RG Kar Hospital,” Mamata said.

The government accepted the demand of the doctors that the chief minister should be present in the meeting but rejected the demand for live communication. It was also suggested that more than 15 people should not participate in the discussion. They waited for two hours for the meeting. But they did not reach the place. The case of rape and murder of a doctor at RG Kar Hospital is under consideration by the court. Mamta also said that it is not possible to broadcast live as requested by the doctors.
