Idukki Diocese of Syro-Malabar Church screened ‘The Kerala Story’ in catechism classes

Idukki Archdiocese has screened The Kerala Story, which created a lot of controversy in Kerala. The film was shown in catechism classes in churches under the Archdiocese. Films were screened in all the churches.

The Idukki Archdiocese screened the film amid political controversy. The film was included in religious education classes with the intention of preventing Islamic extremism from reaching non-religious people and educating the youth and children.

On April 5, Doordarshan telecast Kerala Story. Left and right fronts had come out against telecasting the movie on Doordarshan. Earlier, during the release of the film, the DYFI and Congress had created a ruckus saying that Kerala was being insulted.

The Kerala Story is a film that exposes love jihad and recruitment of girls for terrorist activities by making them fall in love. The movie tells the story of three girls from Kerala.
