A Khalistani terrorist suspected of having links with Pakistan’s ISI has been arrested in Uttar Pradesh. The arrested individual has been identified as Lajjar Masih, a resident of Ramdas in Amritsar, Punjab. He was apprehended in a joint operation conducted early this morning by the Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force (STF) and Punjab Police.
Additional Director General of Police (UP Special Task Force, Law & Order) Amitabh Yash stated that the operation took place within the jurisdiction of the Kokhraj Police Station in Kaushambi. The arrested terrorist is an operative under Jivan Fauji, also known as Swaran Singh, who heads Babbar Khalsa International (BKI), a Germany-based Khalistani outfit. According to the ADGP, Masih had direct links with ISI operatives based in Pakistan.
The UP STF recovered several explosives and weapons from the terrorist, including three active hand grenades, two active detonators, a foreign-made pistol, and 13 foreign-made bullets. Additionally, an Aadhaar card with a Ghaziabad address, a mobile phone without a SIM card, and other items were seized from him.
