S V Pradeep, Karma News Founder Editor died in an accident in Thiruvananthapuram on Monday

Karma News Founder Editor and Journalist S V Pradeep died in a bike accident in Thiruvananthapuram in Kerala. He has worked for various leading media houses and online media outlets. A detailed probe demanded over the mysterious death of Pradeep from every corner.

In the context, Journalist Association of India has send letters to The Honourable President and Prime Minister of India requesting CBI probe into deaths of journalists under mysterious circumstances including the conspiracies against the backbone journalists in Kerala. They pointed out that two prominent, independent and nonpartisan media personalities have been killed in road accidents in the capital of Kerala in the last two years, on the date of 03-08-2019 Bashir and Pradeep on 14-12-2020.

Pradeep who was travelling on a scooter, was hit by a vehicle coming on the same direction. This vehicle is not yet recognized. The incident took place at 3.30 pm. The vehicle didn’t stop after hitting Pradeep’s two wheeler. The body of Pradeep is being kept at the Thiruvananthapuram Medical college Hospital mortuary. Police has appointed a special investigation team to probe into Pradeep’s death. The investigation will be carried out by a team led by Thiruvananthapuram Assistant Commissioner. CCTV footage of the accident has been released. Pradeep’s mother and sister said that Pradeep had received threats on social media and that his phone had been hacked. Many political leaders have also demanded for a comprehensive probe on the matter.

Pradeep is the second journalist be killed in a hit-and-run road accident in Thiruvananthapuram over two years. The death of Bureau Chief of Siraj daily, KM Basheer, who was killed after his motorbike was hit by a car in August 2019, had sparked controversy due to major lapses in the investigation as the key accused was IAS officer Siram Venkitaraman.
