Mumbai Train Tragedy: 16-Year-Old Arrested for Stabbing Passenger Over Seat Dispute

Mumbai: A 16-year-old boy has been arrested for fatally stabbing a fellow passenger during a dispute over a seat on a train traveling from Titwala to CSMT. The incident, which occurred last week, has left commuters shocked.

The victim, Ankush Bhagwan Bhalerao, was stabbed by the teenager in retaliation for an altercation that took place the previous day. The accused had returned to the train with friends to confront the victim. Despite being rushed to the hospital, Bhalerao succumbed to his injuries.

Police identified the accused using CCTV footage. The teenager’s brother was also arrested for allegedly helping destroy evidence. During interrogation, the accused admitted to the crime and revealed that he cut his hair to avoid being recognized after the attack.

The accused has been sent to a juvenile home, and investigations are ongoing. This tragic incident has raised concerns about safety on local trains and the growing prevalence of violence among youth.
