Muslims in India are suffering, remarks by Iran’s Supreme Leader, strongly condemned by India

Even if Iran forgets Mahsa Amini, India will not forget it. After the 22-year-old Mahsa Amini was killed in 2022 by the moral police, the slogans raised in the streets of Iran are Women, Life and Freedom. Criticism is growing against Khamenei who is worried about Muslims in India in such a country. The central government has strongly condemned Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei’s remark that Muslims in India are suffering.

Criticism has been strong against the note shared by Khamenei on social media as part of Prophet’s Day. In a post shared on X, Khamenei wrote that he should not ignore the suffering of Muslims in India, Gaza and Myanmar, and if he does so, he cannot consider himself a Muslim. Khamenei’s statement came out on the day when thousands of women took to the streets without headscarves and hijab to protest on the second anniversary of Mahza Amini’s murder. A 22-year-old woman named Mahsa Amini was killed after being beaten up by Iran’s moral police for not wearing hijab.

Mahsa Amini was killed by the police in 2022 for not wearing hijab. The blow to the head resulted in Amini’s death. Amini’s death opened the way for strong protests against the ruler of Iran, Ayatollah Khamenei, and his policies. Two years after Amini’s murder, women can still be heard walking the streets of Iran without wearing the hijab in protest, chanting women, life and freedom. Amini’s family is still barred from organizing ceremonies on her daughter’s memorial day. The cemetery where Amini’s body is buried has also been banned.

But the Ministry of External Affairs responded to this as a completely false and unacceptable statement. ” Strongly condemns remarks made by Iran’s Supreme Leader about minorities in India. This is a false and unacceptable statement,” said the statement of the Ministry of External Affairs. Those who make such remarks about minorities should check their own country’s human rights record. “Those who make such comments about minorities should first correct their own affairs and examine their countries for human rights violations,” it said. Even today, Mahsa Ammini is something that Iran fears. A large security force was deployed in Mahsa’s hometown. Strict restrictions were imposed in many Kurdish cities. Attempts were made to block protests by blocking the internet.

The terror of power faced by the three journalists was a proof that the Iranian government was still afraid of Mahsi Amini even after his death. Niloufar Hamedi and Elahi Mohammadi were media persons who spoke the loudest about Amini to the world. These journalists who brought Amini’s case to the public’s attention by making news about Amini’s hospital admission and funeral rites had to spend almost a year in prison because of it. Another reporter, Nasila Maroufian, was arrested several times for interviewing Amini’s father, Amjad.
