Nusrat Jahan, a devout Muslim and national vice president of the Republican Party of India, a native of Kozhikode, took the holy water of Amrita at the Triveni Sangam. The holy water was taken at the confluence of the Ganges-Yamuna-Saraswati rivers after 12 am, with the moon as a witness.
Nusrat Jahan, while practicing her religion of Islam, arrived in an Indian attire, wearing saffron and wearing a Rudraksha. The Mahakumbh Mela is no stranger to Muslims who practice Islam and live by it. Nusrat Jahan is also a response to those who mix religion and politics at the Kumbh Mela.
Nusrat Jahan’s message from the Kumbh Mela is to first become an Indian. Then, as Indians, we should practice the religion of our choice.
