Prime Minister Narendra Modi Honored with Guyana’s Highest National Award, ‘The Order of Excellence’

Prime Minister Narendra Modi was conferred with The Order of Excellence, Guyana’s highest national award, by President Mohamed Irfaan Ali.

The award recognizes Modi’s exceptional service to the global community, his contributions to diplomacy, and his efforts to deepen India-Guyana relations. With this accolade, the number of international honors received by Modi now stands at 19.

Notably, Modi became the first Indian Prime Minister to visit Guyana in 56 years. He was given a ceremonial welcome and a Guard of Honor upon his arrival in Georgetown.

In a rare gesture, President Irfaan Ali personally received Modi at the airport. The two leaders shared a warm embrace, and Modi was presented with a bouquet of flowers by distinguished guests.
