Prime Minister Narendra Modi received a grand welcome in Sri Lanka. A group of senior Sri Lankan ministers welcomed the Prime Minister at the Colombo airport.
The Prime Minister will participate in various events during his visit. Today (Saturday), he will hold extensive discussions with Sri Lankan President Anura Kumara Dissanayake. Reports suggest that they will discuss the development of bilateral relations across various sectors.
Prime Minister Modi arrived in Sri Lanka after attending the BIMSTEC summit held in Bangkok, the capital of Thailand. It is expected that India and Sri Lanka will sign several agreements following the discussions. Reports also indicate that the two countries may sign their first-ever military agreement. During the visit, the Prime Minister will also meet with leaders of various political parties in Sri Lanka.
