Congress candidate Priyanka Gandhi has officially submitted her nomination papers for the Wayanad constituency, marking her electoral debut. Priyanka filed three sets of nomination papers at the district collectorate, accompanied by her family—Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi, her husband Robert Vadra, and their son. Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge and AICC General Secretary K.C. Venugopal were also present in support.
Following an enthusiastic roadshow, Priyanka addressed voters, expressing her commitment to Wayanad. She declared, “This is my new journey, and each of you is my teacher. Wayanad gave Rahul the strength to fight, and my family is forever indebted to this land.” The event was attended by prominent Congress leaders, including Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, opposition leader V.D. Satheesan, KPCC President K. Sudhakaran, and P.K. Kunhalikutty.
