Bengaluru: NIA raid in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu in Rameswaram Cafe blast case. The raid is taking place at the houses of two doctors.Jaffer Iqbal and Nain Sadiq, who practice in Coimbatore, were searched at their homes on Saibaba Road. A person was detained during the search in Andhra Pradesh.
Suhail, a native of Raidurgam, was taken into custody from Anantpur district. NIA seized mobile phone and hard disk from him. The NIA raided 11 places in various states in connection with the blast case. The raid is also underway in Bengaluru in a terror conspiracy case registered last year.
In July 2023, five people were arrested by the police for conspiring to carry out terrorist attacks in various places including Bengaluru. The case was taken over by the NIA in October 2023. The NIA had found that the case in which the accused in various petty cases in jail were incited to act of terrorism was related to this.
