Narayanpur: Gobel village of Narayanpur district of Chhattisgarh. Seven Naxalites were killed in the encounter in Namekhala. Three jawans of the security forces were injured. Police and Indo-Tibetan Bor after receiving tip-off The Naxals were being hunted down by the police.
Officials said the injured soldiers were out of danger. The police recovered the bodies of the slain Naxalites. A senior police officer said the firing took place in a forest near Gobal village in Orcha region where a joint team of security personnel was on an anti-Naxalite operation.
Officers of the District Reserve Guard of Police from Narayanpur, Kondagaon, Dantewada and Bastar districts and the 45th Battalion of the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) participated in the operation. He added that weapons were recovered from the bodies of the slain Naxalites.
