Kozhikode: Muraleedharan said that Tharoor is a global citizen and an ordinary worker like him cannot express his opinion in his opinion. Congress leader K Muraleedharan came to the fore against Sasi Tharoor’s article that Kerala is business-friendly.
Muraleedharan told the media that the national leadership will respond to Tharoor’s statement. Opposition leader VD Satheesan had also come out against Tharoor’s statement. ‘The national leadership of the Congress should respond to Tharoor’s statement. We are all ordinary party workers. He is a member of the National Working Committee and a citizen of the world. It is not right for ordinary people like us to express opinions on such people. The high command will take an appropriate decision. What Tharoor said is not the opinion of the Kerala Congress. Congressmen in Kerala cannot accept any of the policies of the LDF under any circumstances. The UDF and the Congress will move forward with a strong struggle against the government. We are working to oust the anti-people government in Kerala,’ said Muraleedharan.
“The people of Kerala know the facts very well. They don’t look at anyone’s certificate, they vote based on their experiences. The verdict will be against the government in the local body elections. Ordinary workers like me are not responsible for evaluating Tharoor’s activities. I have little ability to carry the party’s opinion and contest wherever the party tells me. So I have nothing to say about him,” said Muraleedharan.
Opposition leader VD Satheesan’s response to this was that he did not know the context in which Tharoor wrote his article. He said. He did not know what information and figures he had in his hand. VD Satheesan told the media that Kerala is not an industry-friendly state and needs to improve a lot. ‘Currently, Kerala is not a state with a good industrial environment. Naturally, we want it to improve. I do not know the context in which Shashi Tharoor said this and on the basis of which statistics. The Industries Minister says that three lakh enterprises have been started in Kerala in the last three years. I had asked the minister what they were. According to the minister’s figures, there should be at least 2000 enterprises on an average in a constituency. Is that somewhere?’- Satheesan asked
Following Tharoor’s article, Industries Minister P Rajeev had posted a note on Facebook expressing his gratitude. ‘He looks at the recent achievements of Kerala in the industrial sector, including ranking first in the Ease of Doing Business, very positively. He is also ready to accept the new industrial policy of Kerala brought by the LDF government and the Entrepreneurship Year project that has brought international recognition to Kerala as a big change. He also shares our long-standing demand that everyone should stand together for the progress of Kerala in his own words through this article. Thank you.. Let’s stand together for Kerala..’ Rajeev wrote.
In an article published in the New Indian Express on Friday, Tharoor highlights the achievements of the state in the industrial sector under the Pinarayi Vijayan government. The article assesses that Kerala is standing as a unique model in the country in terms of entrepreneurship and sustainable growth. Kerala’s ranking in the 2024 Global Startup Ecosystem Report, which is five times the global average, and Kerala’s ranking first in the Ease of Doing Business Survey, is a major achievement.
The Kerala startup scene has achieved an extraordinary 254 percent annual growth between July 1, 2021 and December 31, 2023. “Until two or three years ago, it took three days to start a business in Singapore and the US, but 114 days in India and 236 days in Kerala. Two weeks ago, Industries Minister P Rajiv announced that a BSIS venture can be started in Kerala in two minutes. If this is true, it is an amazing change,” Tharoor explains. It is true that approvals are being given at an incredible speed in Kerala, Tharoor says in the article. It is also noteworthy that the Congress MP’s praise comes at a time when Congress leaders, including Opposition Leader VD Satheesan and Ramesh Chennithala, are strongly opposing the administration both inside and outside the assembly.
