A Special Police Officer (SPO), his wife and their 22-year-old daughter were killed when militants attacked the family on Sunday night in Hariparigam village in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district. The injured daughter of the Special Police Officer (SPO) killed by militants in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pulwama in a brutal attack died on Monday morning.
Fayaz Ahmad, his wife and daughter were at home when militants barged into their house and riddled them with bullets. The incident occurred at around 11 pm on Sunday. They were rushed to a local hospital where the SPO and his wife Raja Begum succumbed to their injuries. Their daughter Rafia, who was initially shifted to a larger hospital for treatment, too died on Monday morning. Jammu and Kashmir’s lieutenant governor, Manoj Sinha termed the killing brutal. “I strongly condemn brutal terrorist attack on SPO Fayaz Ahmad & his family at Awantipora. This is an act of cowardice & perpetrators of violence will be brought to justice very soon. My deepest condolences to the family of martyr & prayers for the recovery of injured,” tweeted Sinha.
