The Ekta statue was dedicated to the nation by the Prime Minister on October 31, 2018. The statue of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel was built on the banks of Narmada at a cost of Rs 2989 crore. This is the tallest statue in the world. The work of the statue was completed in four years. The total height of this statue from the bottom is 240 meters. The height of the Patel sculpture is 182 meters.

Padma Bhushan Ram Vs. Sudhar is the sculptor of the statue. The statue is divided into five parts. The first zone is the ankle-length portion of the statue. The statue has three main parts namely display area, middle floor and upper part. The construction of the world’s tallest statue of Ekta, which was dedicated to the nation by the Prime Minister on Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s birth anniversary, was completed at a record speed.

It took 33 months for the construction. The stone laying ceremony of the statue was performed on October 31, 2013. The feature is that it was completed in a short period of time beyond the engineering marvel built near the Narmada Dam. The statue of Ekta is twice the height of the Statue of Liberty in New York. The construction of the 182 meter high sculpture was completed in 33 months. It took 11 years for the construction of the famous Buddha statue of China.

1700 tons of bronze was used for the construction. In addition to concrete cement, modern construction materials including reinforced steel have been used. The construction cost is Rs 2989 crores. The leading company L&T was responsible for the construction.

Below the sculpture is a 72 feet high museum. The history of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel is fully covered here with an area of 4647 square meters. The Shrestha Bharat Bhavan, a three-star hotel with 128 rooms, is also near the sculpture. Next to the bust of the sculpture is a 200-person visitor gallery accessible by lift. The construction of the statue is such that it can survive the wind blowing at a speed of 180 km per hour. A system has been prepared to withstand even earthquakes up to 6.5.

The statue of Ekta has become the tallest statue in the world, surpassing the 153 meter tall Buddha statue in China, the Christ statue in Brazil and the Statue of Liberty in the United States.
