Historic milestone: Indian stock market valuation crosses ₹470.51 lakh crore

Mumbai: It is a boom time for the Indian stock market. On Monday, the market capitalization crossed 470.51 lakh crore. As the Sensex hit a new high of 83,184.34 points, the market value also surged and achieved a new high. The stock market closed with losses amid five straight weeks of gains. But last week the market saw a rebound.

There was an increase in the market value of nine of the top ten companies in the stock market. Bharti Airtel registered the highest advance. Telecom company Bharti Airtel alone recorded an increase in market value of Rs 54,282 crore. Airtel’s market value has risen to 9,30,490 crores.

Close behind is ICICI Bank. Economists point out that the rise in market value is a reflection of a strong economy, a step towards a developed India. India’s financial stability and investment inflows are gaining global recognition. Following this, there is a huge increase in the income of Indian companies.
