CHENNAI: Tamil Director Arrested Over Controversial Remarks on Palani Panchamirtham. Chennai police arrested Tamil film director Mohan G for his controversial reference to Panchamrita at Palani temple. After the news that animal fat was mixed in the laddus served as prasad to devotees in Tirumala Tirupati, Mohan G mentioned that he had heard rumors that contraceptive pills were mixed in the’Panchamritham’ prasad at Palani Murugan Temple, the main temple in Tamil Nadu.
There were widespread complaints against this on social media. Then various organizations came forward against him. It is reported that the arrest was made on the basis of a complaint lodged by such an organization with the Trichy Police.
Meanwhile, Chennai BJP president Aswatthama Allimuthu claimed in X that the Tamil film director was arrested without prior notice. Allimuthu said that his family was not informed why he was arrested, for what reason and where he was detained. Mohan G is a director who has made many Tamil films like ‘Pashaya Vannarapettai’, ‘Thandavam’, ‘Draupathi’.
