On October 16, while the military was operating in the northwestern Tel Sultan area of Rafah, a vigilant soldier noticed suspicious movement hundreds of meters away. Following this, trackers and brigade personnel were deployed to search the area, where they discovered fresh footprints.
The Israeli soldiers and trackers followed these footprints, which led them to a nearby building. Using sophisticated equipment capable of detecting faint sounds from within the structure, the trackers recorded the audio.
At that moment, the Israeli forces were unaware that inside the building were Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar and his guards. Some soldiers joked, wondering if this was Yahya’s double or his twin, doubting that the Hamas leader could be taken down so easily. Others speculated that an airstrike or missile would be required to eliminate such a prominent figure. However, a sound analysis report soon arrived with confirmation.
