The Central Intelligence Agency seizes drugs worth Rs 71 crore in the Tamil Nadu drug bust

Chennai: The Central Intelligence Agency has seized drugs worth Rs 71 crore, which were being smuggled to Sri Lanka from Pudukottai district. The drugs were seized from a prawn farm in Mimisal village.

The Central Intelligence Agency was monitoring the area following information that drugs were being smuggled to Sri Lanka in small boats from Thondi, SP town, Devipatnam, Maraikayar town, Thangachimath, Mandapam and Pampan. The prawn farm is owned by Sultan, who hails from Ramanathapuram.

After the drug was seized, the investigation team started searching for him. Last day DMK leader Jafar Sadiq was arrested by the Narcotics Control Bureau in connection with international drug trafficking. Drugs worth 2000 crores were smuggled to foreign countries under his leadership. The arrested Jafar Sadiq is a close follower of Chief Minister Stalin and Minister Udayanidhi Stalin.
