Mugal Museum in Agra

The construction is in progress, to provide the Chhatrapati Shivaji Mughal Agra, the name of the museum, said Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath reported. How can the Mughals become our heroes? The Chief Minister made the suggestion through a video conference with officials at his official residence.

The meeting was convened to assess the development activities in Agra and the Kovid situation. Former Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav has come up with the idea for the museum, which will be built by the UP Tourism Department at a cost of Rs 141 crore. He announced the project in 2016. The construction of the museum is nearing completion. Funds fell short following the lockdown. With that, construction work has been suspended, ”said Amit Srivastava, UP Tourism Director, Agra.

The Mughal Museum is located 2 km west of the Taj Mahal. It is a fusion of Mughals and Braj culture. Waseed Nisar, Samajwadi Party Agra City President, accused the Yogi government of focusing on changing the names of institutions instead of implementing development activities. The Mughal Museum was a dream project of former Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav. He pointed out that after the BJP government came to power, not even enough funds were allocated for construction.

Meanwhile, former Maharashtra Chief Minister and Leader of the Opposition Devendra Fatnavis welcomed the Yogi government’s stance.
