So far 12,38,635 people have been diagnosed with the disease. The total death toll in the country was 29,861.7,82,606 people have been cured so far. Currently, there are 4,26,167 people in treatment in the country.
The situation is critical in Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, and Tamil Nadu. The daily incidence is 10,000 in Maharashtra, 6,000 in Andhra Pradesh, and 5,000 in Tamil Nadu. In Karnataka, where the total number of patients is over 75,000, the death toll has risen to 1,500. More than 2,000 cases have been reported in Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal.
Along with Kerala, the number of patients in Odisha crossed 1000 daily. With this, the number of states reporting more than a thousand cases per day has increased to thirteen. The central position is that there is no social spread even when the disease is rising sharply.
