Tremors of magnitude 5.0 hits in Maharashtra

Maharashtra: Earthquake in Maharashtra. The earthquake occurred in Hingoli district on Wednesday morning. It registered an intensity of 5.0 on the Richter scale. Nanded district officials informed that the epicenter of the earthquake that occurred at 7.14 am was in Rameshwar Thanda village in Kalamnuri taluk of Hingoli. No casualties or other damage were reported.

The earthquake was felt in Hingoli, Nanded, Parbhani, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar and Washim. In the wake of the earthquake, as a precautionary measure, the Nanded district administration has directed residents to remove stones from the roofs of their sheeted houses. In March, earthquakes of magnitude 4.5 and 3.6 were reported in the region.
