New Delhi: Union Minister Smriti Irani has challenged Congress leader Rahul Gandhi to contest from Uttar Pradesh’s Amethi instead of Wayanad if he has confidence. In 2019, Rahul Gandhi left Amethi. Smriti Irani also said that the deserted streets of Amethi are calling and telling what attitude the people of Amethi have towards Rahul.
Smriti Irani’s challenge comes in the context of Bharat Jodo nyay Yatra led by Rahul reaching UP. Rahul had lost in the 2019 elections in Amethi, which was the power center of the Congress. Smriti Irani won by a majority of 55000 votes.
