Will Contest the Next Assembly Elections Alone; Congress Has No Relevance in the State: Mamata

Kolkata: West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has said that she will contest the 2026 assembly elections alone. Mamata also blamed the Congress for the BJP’s landslide victory in the Delhi Assembly. Mamata said that the Congress did not help AAP in Delhi. Mamata’s stand came again when the Indi alliance was on the verge of collapse. Mamata was the first to publicly come out against Rahul’s usurpation of the leadership of the Indi alliance before the Lok Sabha elections.

Following the dismal performance of the Indi alliance in the Lok Sabha elections, all the major parties distanced themselves from the Congress. The alliance was completely dissolved with the subsequent Maharashtra and Delhi assembly elections.
