AAP leader and Rajya Sabha MAAP leader and Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh granted bail in liquor policy case

New Delhi ∙ Aam Aadmi Party’s Rajya Sabha member Sanjay Singh granted bail in liquor case. The Supreme Court has granted bail to Sanjay Singh, who is currently in Tihar Jail. The Supreme Court clarified that bail conditions can be decided by the trial court.

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) did not oppose the granting of bail to Sanjay Singh. Sanjay Singh was granted bail after Arvind Kejriwal, who was arrested the other day, reached Tihar Jail.

The Supreme Court granted bail to Sanjay Singh by raising criticism against ED. The court pointed out that the ED has not yet found anything against Sanjay Singh. ED has not been able to find the money either. In the statement of the apologetic witness Dinesh Arora, nothing was said against Sanjay Singh. The court said that Sanjay Singh will not be barred from doing political activities during the bail period.

ED Sanjay Singh was arrested on October 4 last year. ED officials raided the official residence on Delhi North Avenue in the morning. After being interrogated for 10 hours, he was arrested under the Money Laundering Act. The charge sheet filed by ED states that Sanjay Singh used middleman Dinesh Arora to collect party funds for AAP under the guise of liquor policy. ED alleged that Dinesh Arora handed over two crore rupees to Sanjay Singh, but Sanjay Singh denied this.
